Electrical Training Course Delivered

All

Late last year, a very wise Line Producer ruminated an idea with Crispin, wouldn’t it be great if he could be sure his Locations and Unit teams were all confidently versed in his production’s power needs pre shoot. Yes! We thought, that would be great, and we know just the man for the job! Thus, our inaugural Electrical Course was developed with temporary power expert James Eade and was hosted by Location One at our Barking headquarters last week.

10 crew members including Location Managers, Location Assistants, Unit Managers and Unit Assistants, spent 2 days with us learning or refreshing their knowledge, in how to confidently and safely assemble basic temporary power systems. The course used both practical and theoretic approaches and centred around generators, distribution equipment and typical equipment used at unit base and on location. It also covered topical industry matters such as correct sizing of generators and use of battery store technology.

It was a great success! Those who came along gave us an average score of 9 out of 10 when asked if they’d learnt lots that would help them on productions, and if they’d recommend the course to colleagues. We learnt loads too and are busy planning amends based on feedback for next time – the main one being don’t schedule it during the coldest week of the year!

A huge thank you to all of our clients who came along and of course to James and his team who were, unsurprisingly, fabulous.

“It was great to refresh my knowledge which helps me work more confidently”

“The course was very relaxed, honed in on the key areas our industry applies to and the conversation was flowing well. James & Jon were very engaging and had great chemistry, as well as the obvious vast knowledge they had. It’s made running out power a whole lot less daunting!”

“Thanks again for being such a welcoming team, I’ve really enjoyed working with Location One over the years and this course was another positive experience”

“Great to learn/re-enforce knowledge of electrical use! Thanks again”
