From red to green – our switch to renewable diesel

As part of our continued push to offer sustainable solutions to customers, we have switched from red ‘fossil fuel’ diesel to renewable diesel in all our engine equipment across all our branches.
When renewable diesel is combusted in an engine, CO2 emissions are released into the air, just as with fossil diesel. However, because our renewable diesel is sourced from waste and sustainably managed crops it is carbon neutral.
Use of our renewable diesel brings multiple benefits over fossil fuel diesel:
– More efficient combustion (approx. 10%) due to its higher cetane rating
– Reduced lifecycle CO2 emissions (of up to 90%)
– Reduced NOx, particulate matter and CO emissions, meaning better local air quality
– Odourless and sulphur-free
